I’ve been overwhelmed by the love and support of everyone who has read my blog so far. It has opened a line of dialogue between my family and friends that comes from a place of honesty and authenticity. I have always known that I was loved and supported by many. That is why I never chose to share my journey through anxiety and depression until now. There was no way I could have published any of those words, as I was experiencing them. It was only until I learned how to disassociate from those emotions, and recognize them as waves that would soon pass, that I was able to share what it felt like.
Anxiety and depression is an obstacle, not a curse. It is something I find nearly everyone experiences at one point or another, whether they are aware of it or not. By talking about it, we can begin to remove the negative labels and connotations it comes with. We can be more forgiving, understanding, and loving towards one another.
Though I have many more posts to share about my anxiety and depression, I thought I would take a break for now, and move towards a more positive space. There are many things that helped guide me out of the darkness and into the light. This was not easy. It is most definitely hard work, and takes active practice. It took me about a year and a half to figure out what I’m experiencing, why, and how to heal that, and still, I am not perfect. But publishing about emotions I felt from long ago, helps me remember the things that kept me going.
I hope some of the next few posts inspire you to implement these practices into your life, as we all can benefit from doing so, and benefit from others doing so too. And a special thank you to everyone who donated. Please sign up for my email list!
Let’s play, shall we?
